About
Most apps tell you what you did. Gears tells you what to do.
While you run, Gears tells you whether you're doing what the run is for, in a voice in your ear and a color on your wrist.
Why Gears exists
Easy runs creep into Steady. Hard days show up tired. The plan in most apps has no idea how you slept, and the voice in your ear has no idea what your heart is doing. Gears closes that gap: three effort gears measured on you, called live, with a plan that bends around your days.
It's built for Apple Watch and iPhone, around Apple Health, and every run works with no signal at all. The watch can coach the whole run on its own. So can the iPhone.
Principles
Run honest.
A blunt line plays only when the numbers back it. The coach is never harsh about what it can't see. It goes after the excuse, never the person.
Your body sets the pace.
Your gears come from your own running and move as you get fitter. Heart rate can only ever make a gear easier.
Fewer, better words.
Every line is pre-recorded and picked by rules on your device. Nothing is improvised mid-run, and no run needs a signal.
Your data works for you.
Kept to coach you and keep Gears running. Never sold, never used for ads, never shown to another runner.
